Loot Desert, the world’s 25th largest desert, is inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list on July 17, 2016 at the 40th World Heritage Conference of UNESCO. Loot Desert is the world’s driest and hottest places and the surface of the sand has been measured at temperatures as high as 70 °C (159 °F) there. *11*

The big desert of Lut with the area of 5,400 square kilometers is situated in the east and southeast of Iran .In a major part of this desert, there is no animal and vegetable life of any kind. The very beautiful and typical phenomena abound in this desert.

Lut Desert is a large salt desert in the provinces of Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan, and is the world’s 25th largest desert. The surface of the sand there has been measured at temperatures as high as 70 °C (159 °F), and it is one of the world’s driest and hottest places.

One of the phenomena in Lut is its Kaluts. These tall strange looking sand formations that are shaped by centuries of water and soil erosion create spectacular scenery in desert giving a real sense of isolation.
